Okay. So I offered deals on CD's. Well, going through 2000 CD's to pick out what to sell on eBay is one thing. Searching for specific requests (when the 2000 CD's are in no particular order) was a little more complicated. Plus I had no idea how to price these things outside of an auction.

So here's the deal: I'll regularly (weekly?) post a list of my current eBay auctions, and readers of this journal get a discount off their bid price (how about 10%?). Include the secret phrase "I have a dill pickle in my ear" with your payment.(I love writing Terms & Conditions. I shoulda been a lawyer) [Update/Clarification 3pm ET: That's a discount off the bid price, not the shipping.]

This week is experimentation week. Just 50 auctions to start out with. All auctions start at 1 cent, but they are in a variety of currencies (CAD, USD, UKP, EUR)

  • Hmm. Having trouble getting the list past the lameness filter. This is a placeholder -- I'll post them as a reply to this message.

    • Here are more CD's that I have available. Let me know if anything interests you. Roughly alphabetical by artist (individuals might be by first name or last name). Bands may be listed under T for "The." There is a distinct possibility that some are completely in the wrong place.

      Had to put it in paragraph form for the filter. Hope it's still understandable.

          How about (CAD) $10.00 (plus $2.80 for shipping to USA)?

          • Ah, now you get to see how much of a cheapskate I am (and I can no longer hide behind ebay).

            If I win the auction for Live, I'd pay (CAD)$3.00 for the CD. If I don't win the other one (i.e. no combined shipping savings for me or you), I'd pay (CAD) $2.50 for it. (see, I'm such a lowballer).

            Let me know if that works (I won't be offended if that's too little for you. I know I'm pretty stingy, especially when it comes to entertainment).
  • Where and when did you see those tards? Did the smell knock you down?
  • I've heard tiny snippets (possibly chosen for this purpose) that support the stigma associated with David Hasslehoff's musical "ick." In fairness, I seem to recall he's an okay singer, but the writing behind it was awful. Still, I have to ask, WHY do you have this?

    I'll give you an out; did you used to deejay parties/events (in the "old-fashioned" sense, where "deejaying" just meant providing prerecorded music)? I generally regard my tastes as being diverse, but if all these are personal choices, you've

    • Not my personal collection -- in fact the Hasselhoff CD is still sealed.

      My landlord does a bunch of trading in used stuff -- selling at fea markets etc. I'm going through the 2000 to 3000 CD's that he hasn't been able to get rid of and pulling out the stuff that's worth putting on eBay.
