If it takes an infinite number of monkeys an infinite amount of time to reproduce the works of Shakespeare, how many and how much time would it take to get them to produce hello_world.cpp?

Actually, there was a news story I saw a while back (maybe in somone's /. journal) where they gave monkeys computers to see what they'd do with them and one of the conclusions is that this theory is mistaken. The "infinite number of monkeys" theory assumes that monkeys would press keys at random. The actual monkeys were aware of the results they were getting and preferred some results to others and were especially partial to holding one key down to create 20 rows of one letter repeating.

Actually I believe that monkeys use Visual Basic not Visual C++ or C#.

Certainly explains some VB "applications" I've seen.
