That's not true. At least for the older iPad with the dock connector, you can connect any MIDI device through the Camera Connection Kit and then play very nice synthesizers like the Moog Animoog or Korg iMS-20. And if the internal headphone out isn't enough, you can connect USB class compliant audio interfaces to get super pristine audio output, too.

There's way more options, MIDI over Bluetooth LE, on the new iOS 9 there'll be options to route sound directly to a Mac and much more.

In fact, for a long time, iOS was the only mobile OS that allowed any meaningful interactive audio because Android had problems with the input delay.

But I'm happy to hear that the workflow you're describing (i.e. running full blown desktop apps) is possible on the Surface 3! It's like a thin laptop with touchscreen and for this interface situation the touch is very useful!

So much of university learning in Germany and France is centered around drill*.
No wonder that people with different learning styles can have problems in this format. Those are the ones more likely to smoke weed, imo.
The authors take "passing courses" as a metric for success. But they fail to realize that there are many previously A grade students who in research positions suddenly don't know what to do since they never developed a proper creativity together with a longing to explore.
This whole mentality of "let's grow our economy by pushing people to what we think is good for growing our economy" is a big stupid fad and will lead to nothing but short-term sucess and long-term mediocrity of failure.

What you're proposing sounds like zero incentive to invent while being employed. Doesn't make much sense psychologically.

I think just is if one agrees with the employer about a certain split ratio when signing for the job. It seems that here in Germany while employed at a university the inventor is entitled to 30% of the revenue achieved by commercialization.

This podcast seems to be about tDCS, while Thync is appearantly "using transcranial pulsed ultrasound (tPU), transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and other transcranial electrical stimulation (tES) methods".

For anyone with access to a printer, like at university or at work, it makes more sense to print there. I don't see this changing so soon. For anyone who doesn't need parts every day, the invenstment into a cheap one won't pay off. One might rather want the quality produced by more expensive printers than having one at home that does lower quality.

In general, from my experience, I see that there's still a lot of hassle in getting good results out of these mid-range printers. I'm talking about a ~$2000 Ultimaker2. For new materials one has to experiment a lot with the parameters to get good results. Also a single printhead means no dissolvable support structures are possible to print, so overhang is always a problem.
I'm looking forward to when these issues are solved and the printer just always works to it's best abilities at set speed and itself figures out how to do that with the supplied filament.

This workout I only recommend to folks who want to be sportive at a certain level and work for it.
Otherwise the above mentioned tips, like cycling are of more relevance.

I lol'd because I also got a 7 km bike commute but i do it in 30 minutes instead of 20, then I don't need to shower afterwards ;-)

But no offense, I know some people tend to sweat more and probably it's much warmer where you live.

What I also always find important is to take the nice tracks and if possible try to omit the crowded roads. One really shouldn't underestimate how much nicer and healthier (!!!) it is to go a little extra in order to be able to ride through a park or along a river, instead of breathing the exhaust fumes on the road. I hope in the future air of a certain quality will be seen as a right of the cyclists.

It's a workout programme you can do at home with only a few tools (pull up bar and resistance bands mostly). Each workout is of fixed length, you let it run and you can see the time on a progress bar also.It's fun, though I've to admit I don't do it as often as intended, but still, I like it because I save all the time and hassle and money going to a gym.
