IBM's Plans For the Cell Processor 124

angry tapir writes "Development around the original Cell processor hasn't stalled, and IBM will continue to develop chips and supply hardware for future gaming consoles, a company executive said. IBM is working with gaming machine vendors including Nintendo and Sony, said Jai Menon, CTO of IBM's Systems and Technology Group, during an interview Thursday. 'We want to stay in the business, we intend to stay in the business,' he said. IBM confirmed in a statement that it continues to manufacture the Cell processor for use by Sony in its PlayStation 3. IBM also will continue to invest in Cell as part of its hybrid and multicore chip strategy, Menon said."

Fancy pointing out these LDAP "issues"?

I've migrated a metric crapload of LDAP apps from OpenLDAP, Sun LDAP and BT X.500 to Active Directory and AD/AM (aka AD-LDS) and haven't found a single issue with the LDAP interfacing apart from where apps were relying on non-RFC features in the original LDAP servers.

China Vows to Stop the Rain 214

Since the Olympic stadium doesn't have a roof, the Beijing Meteorological Bureau has been given the task of making sure the games remain dry. According to Zhang Qian, head of weather manipulation (best title to have on a business card ever) at the bureau, they've had success with light rain but heavy rain remains tough to control. I see a hurricane cannon in some lucky country's future.

I think you are wrong. When I saw this article I immediately thought "Just reverse the process". I am pretty sure I'm not a genius, so this occurred to many people (as evidence by the number of posters here). We aren't going to improve security by trying to hide the vulnerabilities. It's called Security through Obscurity and has been widely discredited.

What we should do is nail this guy which may act as a deterrent to some potential paedophiles. With all the tools in their arsenals, I don't think Interpol are giving away the crown jewels in intelligence here.
