I can't close my door. Owners need to be able to walk by and see what I am doing. I'm not allowed to close my door.. I also disagree on meetings. I work in manufacturing as a software developer. I work 2 days a week from home. Had a meeting while in the office, I had to take a ten minute walk out into the plant to get to it, we jawed for 10 minutes, then had a 30 minutes meeting. 10 minute walk back. Next meeting, same group of people, on a day I work from home. They conferenced me into the meeting room, meeting took 10 minutes, done, I hung up the phone and got back to work. Saved 30-40 minutes.

To each their own. I would watch another 150 marvel movies. Can't stand Watchmen or any of the DC movies, to me those are boring. "The current crop of Marvel movies do not emulate the literary aspirations of those exceptions, instead they're the movie versions of pulp" This is what annoys me. WHy do they have to be literary aspirations? What is wrong with having mindless entertainment? There are plenty of other movies that can engage you mentally, why does every movie have to do that?

I hope so. Never bought into it, it was fluff from the beginning. Been programming since 1995 and it's always a case of developers trying to sound smarter and pretend it's difficult by changing methods or acronyms. KISS. That's all it is. Don't need fancy words or acronyms to explain something in 500 words when it can probably be explained in 15. Just people peacocking.

I've always been of the mindset that if you are a good employee, and your shit gets done in a reasonable amount of time with satisfactory results, I could care less how much time (within obvious limits) you need to take off for personal reasons. Give me a great employee that works 30 hours a week but gets everything done vs. a stressed out employee that works 60 hours a week but due to stress their outputs suffer.
