Actually, I think that JSP's are fairly useful and have decently implemented interfaces to beans and the like. Since they get compiled into servlets anyway, what's the difference?
I've never been canoeing before, but I imagine there must be just a few simple heuristics you have to remember... Yes, don't fall out, and don't hit rocks.
