I agree. My questions are. Why can't he do it? Are you saying that if something does not come from a big company, Gov, cost millions or billions of dollars it won't work? I don't think so. I have great faith in what people can do when they put there minds to work.
I also think he has it easy in a way. He does not have to pioneer any new aspects of rocketry or physics. He just have to read some books, look at some examples, and come up with the $$ to fund his idea.
I am finishing my BS in Computer Science in Dec, so I value a degree, but that does not mean that the classroom is the only way to learn. For example I am building a small boat which I will be piloting for a yearly race where I live. I have been reading physics books, and searching for examples boat building to help in the design.
