Comment Re:Man discovered fire (Score 0) 44

Wrong. I have walked many times alone in the winter on a path through a forest at 5 am when I did my military service. No moon or much beauty there. Also there was a pack of ferral dogs that barked at me while I kept them at distance with a stick. I'm not making this up, I was fine. But nice try.

Comment Man discovered fire (Score 0) 44

Ever since Man discovered fire it has been used to provide light and comfort at night in human dwellings. Kept people together, kept dangerous animals at bay, provided a sense of security. Imagine a city without lights at night today, like after a natural disaster or during a war -- the overwhelming fear, the lawlessness. Now some academics are worried about the disruption caused by light to urban plants' phenology. Get a life, please.

I guess Pardus is some sort of non-profit? Do you get distro support from them? Because you know, all is great until something goes wrong. BTW, companies like Redhat use the same business model: you pay for support, and for some supportive proprietary software, if you wish. Good for you if you found more convenient support for a custom (language) distro. My guess is many countries now fear being left out in the cold like RU was.

The US decision to help move TSMC production facilities to US territory actually is bad news for Taiwan. It entails the US will not be motivated to become involved militarily, should China decide to seize Taiwan. Think Crimeea, which Russia seized it while nobody moved a finger. The strategic objective in Crimeea was militay bases, in Taiwan itâ(TM)s high tech technology and factories.

You folks are just too young to remember that this was by design: Win 2000, based on NT, was the enterprise (i.e. stable) version. Win 95 was the consumer version, videogame-oriented and bleeding edge, then rapidly evolved into 98 and ME. Eventually, they merged into XP, the first âoegreatâ Windows release.
