Comment The Lost Documentation Project? (Score 1) 97

If the LDP wants to be of any use, than IMHO it's required be responsive in the free software (FS) tradition.

This means there needs to be a clear and easy procedure to contribute and there must be feedback. Having an LDP HOWTO and the therin stated submission address pointing to /dev/null is the same as killing the project off.

I now know of three people (myself included) trying to contribute but never getting any useful reply (I haven't got any btw.).

For my part I only want to contribute a mini-HOWTO because I don't want to maintain SGML code. But trying to publish it (i.e. bureaucracy) has already consumed more time than creating and updating it (i.e. the real work). And it still isn't mentioned anywhere.

It's been in the FS tradition that the passing leader determines the next one. From Matt's posting it seems that there's no such leader currently. How come this happened? If there's no current leader now, why doesn't the previous one pass the leadership on?

PS: The LDP has allways been of very great use to me - thanks a lot for that work!
