Some of these tournaments can bring in great prizes. People cheat, what are you going to do, but also organizers cheat too. I had a small tournament where my buddy was winning with a province record walleye caught, but about 10 minutes before the end, organizers announced that a small girl caught a fish off the dock which was a bit bigger than the leading fish up until this point. No girl or fish was ever produced, so everyone just went home. I still participate in Salmon Derby every year, usually the top prize is either a boat or a truck. Never won anything yet, but we will see next year!

I like this, but this whole bit about ensuring that clothing is loaded evenly can be a bit of an issue. If it isn't severely foolproof, you would see whole bunch of law suits regarding your centrifuges damaging surrounding walls / equipment / pets / occupants. We do after all have to warn people that coffee is hot and that objects in the mirror are closer than they appear. Outside of this, I would go for it, I mean why would you hit up a thing in your house when AC is blasting in the middle of the summer?

Honestly, this is a part of my job as a boss that I hate with passion. I work for a company that does a lot of software for casinos and similar and I hate travelling to see my clients. This whole casino thing is so overrated, especially once you know how it actually works, but it is unavoidable. Yes, I do charge my company for number of things like dinners with clients and similar, but nobody wants me to pay for it out of my own pocket. It isn't as glamorous as some people think and you get tired of it quite quickly. I miss out on spending time with my wife and my kids and it isn't really worth it.

My devs are working from office two days per week right now, I am in the office about 3-4 times per week. I'd love to keep everyone working from home but:
a. Lease on the office is already paid, nobody would let us out of it. b. Most of developers are not capable of working productively from home and require fair amount of supervision. Considering situation with finding new developers now, I have to cut a lot of slack to people, but at least those days when they are there, I know people do what needs to be done.

Honestly, I wish I kept on writing code instead of going management route, things would have been significantly easier.

Lots of rich bored people buy drugs. Productive rich people, like C Level execs, do not buy drugs. You just simply can't afford a moment of mental weakness because it is a cutthroat environment. You are very acutely aware of the simple fact that there are tons of other people who want your position and that they are ready to do anything to get it. And any mistake potentially puts you in a vulnerable position. On the other hand, their bored spouses and offspring do dabble in some pharmaceuticals but most of the coke these days is done via Adderall rx and weed is becoming legal practically all over the place.
