the shocking 3D in cinemas doesnt help, most of that '3D' makes no difference to the film except you have to wear glasses, and before someone says I include 3d films that were made in 3d (avatar and such) saw a demo of a sont 3d tv at best buy, honestly i was quite impressed, but putting the fact i am an impoverished student aside, i still wouldnt buy one, i dont really want my tv flying into me to be pefectly honest. also i may be one of the minority that proper 3d causes headaches for focus more on improving picture quality and less of this gimmicky stuff. that or holograms. everybody loves holograms

i appreciate the pun for the name kinect (connect and kinetic merged) but i feel its a rather daft game however the controllerless gaming prospect is intriguing, id class it as 1 step closer to fully imersive virtual reality gaming

I don't know much about fox news (not being a resident in the US), so I can't comment much about that but what I don't understand it is people are so against this reform. Yes it is a 'socialist' policy but the lives of so many people will be helped by this policy. I know a number of people who have had there lives saved or dramatically improved due to the intervention of the NHS here in the UK. yes the NHS has problems, but rarely is there anything that doesnt. The bill isn't communism, you don't have to have government run healthcare, go private if it bothers you. Granting cheap/free healthcare to those who can't afford insurance isn't a bad thing it would help the US become a better nation I've used the NHS many a time and never had a problem, In fact I've only used my medical isurance for minor little problems that are more annoying than serious. Don't slam government run healthcare. It's a good thing

quite frankly i'm so sick of people critisising the LHC, especially the people at fermilab. firstly most people don;t know a damn thing about particle physics (this includes me but I have a relative expert on hand to answer my queries) unless you have some knowledge of beyond degree level particle physics or know someone who does quite well. KEEP YOUR OPINION TO YOURSELF.
for those people (probablly americans) stop critising the LHC becuase its bigger than the accelerator at fermilab. thats like kids arguing over who has a better skateboard. NOT IMPORTANT

this film was interesting to watch and would most likley make a decent film if the studio doesnt wreck it but what worries me is the soundtrack has been blatentley copied from '28 Days Later' and does add eerieness to the atmopshere, so shouldn't danny boyle, or whoever owns the rights to the music be sueing this guy if hes just been offered a $300 million movie deal?

The Perfect Way To Slice a Pizza 282

iamapizza writes "New Scientist reports on the quest of two math boffins for the perfect way to slice a pizza. It's an interesting and in-depth article; 'The problem that bothered them was this. Suppose the harried waiter cuts the pizza off-center, but with all the edge-to-edge cuts crossing at a single point, and with the same angle between adjacent cuts. The off-center cuts mean the slices will not all be the same size, so if two people take turns to take neighboring slices, will they get equal shares by the time they have gone right round the pizza — and if not, who will get more?' This is useful, of course, if you're familiar with the concept of 'sharing' a pizza."
