Comment Trig before whose time? (Score 1) 83

It seems to me the dark ages started earlier than we think and have lasted longer.. So "we" are really more like 2000 year BEHIND times. Imagine if the questions of Lucretious about the property of atoms and the use of this trig had been continuous... That old saw about the ones unable to learn from history destined to always repeat it.

Karen Wilkinsen, Ed dir at Exploratorium created a nice google chat show on the topic. also google Maker Education[MakerEd]. Just be sure your Makerspace isn't part of a Koch brother project to destroy libraries as in my county where over 1/3 of a million volume collection has been pulped to "make space" for a 3 D printer that travels around the system getting broken and spitting out popular "quotes" from THingiverse. NOT what we envision when we think of how a studio with access to tech and tools could be a really useful thing for college students.

Perhaps the original premise is wrong...I knew an airedale named Crowbar that was vain..He would sit in front of the full-length mirror and lower his head until both eyes reflected. After gazing at himself for quite a while he would reposition himself so he could see his tail. I saw this many times and finally got his owner to watch the show. I also witnessed banty hens kill 2 leghorn chickens by jumping on top of them from the henhouse roof. I missed the murder of leghorn #1, and observations halted when I ran out of leghorns!
