How difficult will these be to manually enter when the scanner doesn't work for whatever reason?
Then the cashier will enter the info from the 1D barcode. This isn't (yet) removing that, just adding a new 2D barcode
If you can get your hands on one I still think the original Model M is best. I'm currently using an '84, I have a stash of 4 in the garage in case this one breaks but to be honest I don't think I'll need all of them. Of course by the time my kid gets around to needing a PC I'm sure he'll look at them in horror

And it's probably way overpriced because if they charged a reasonable fee for it then it would be over-subscribed and then they'd have to spend more of their hard-won profits doing something useful, like laying more fiber
