Bullshit! State and local govts are already in for $400 million in land and infrastructure costs. And Foxconn had already downsized the project before the democratic governor took office. And the new govt is honoring pact but has asked it be renegotiated to match expected size of factory. So far Foxconn has come nowhere near to meeting minimal job creation goals. The plan for the original factory was never realistic. For one, it needed Corning to build a multi billiion glass plant next door that was never going to be profitable for Corning. This was always just to curry favor with Trump. They were willing to spend one time 100s of millions to prevent tariffs against the multi billion dollars of annual shipments to US.

What fucking bullshit. It doesn't say anything about public schools. It says it is really hard to teach children remotely. A dara point: My daughter a couple years ago attended 8th grade at a premier online charter school for a year. Complete waste of time. Horrible quality. Learned far more when she returned to public school.

An corporation is an organization of people and should act similarly to the typical behavior expected of individuals. Don't be an asshole. Have compassion. Etc. A corporation's goal of making money is no different than an individual's goal.

Comment 43" 4K TV (Score 2) 216

I think TVs as monitors are awesome for general purpose coding. Not a game developer or artist so I'm not speaking to those use cases. Not really germane to your question but I'm 56, use bifocals and the minimum length where I can focus my distance lens is 4 feet. The near lens focuses closer but mean I need to tilt my neck to use it. Mounted the TV on the wall and pulled the desk back a foot and voila no neck strain. Going to try a 55" next week. The large screen really shines in teamwork, somebody sitting with me can easily see what I'm showing them. The large screen has improved my work ergonomics tremendously.
