You are insulting religion. Most religions are well thought-out. Mainstream Christianity has had some of humanity's smartest people working for 2,000 years to make it immune to the kinds of easy debunking UFO claims fall to. It *is* like religion in the sense that it probably fills a void in the lives of its adherents. And the whistleblowers/book-writers are like the mega-church evangelists making money from believers, except profiting UFO apologists don't end up in jail since they aren't claiming to be charities. It's just another brand of conspiracy theory, like Pizzagate, Ancient Apocalypse and the Illuminati. It's an embarrassment to the country. Interest seems to be resurging, but that's might be because in the Trump era being outspokenly stupid and ignorant is a badge of honor.

I can't believe no one else has thought of this! Isn't it obvious that digging a hole this deep could be viewed as an act of war by the reptilians? Or maybe the Chinese government has a secret pact with them and the tunnel will be for reptilian troops to come above ground and support the Chinese army in global conquest. If it comes to that, we will only be able to prevail if we turn over control of our military to an AI. Better an AI overlord than a lizard.
