But it doesn't need to be 100 times cheaper. Even at the same cost, it would work 100 times faster (I'm guessing that means it can filter more gallons/minute than the current filters). So it would be a win at any cost less than or equal to that of the current filters (and perhaps even at a higher cost if speed of filtration is a factor).

FYI (according to ChatGPT), although still experimental, a few early studies (in animals and small human trials) have shown that therapeutic (vs preventative) mRNA vaccines can reduce viral load, but none have yet achieved a functional cure (long-term viral control without ART).

Here's hoping that THAT may very well happen in the years ahead!

I am very sad to hear that you were among the group who had problems and I sincerely hope you are doing as well as possible, given your situation.

I am curious, though: if you knew then (when you started taking that drug) what you know now, would you have chosen NOT to take it?

Did that medicine improve your health/lifestyle significantly during the time you took it (before the damage from its side effects became evident or significant)? Or would you have been better off without it?

Was the medicine life-saving (i.e. would you have likely lived as long as you have without it)?

I ask because for truly life-saving drugs (e.g. chemotherapy) that are known to have awful side effects, sometimes the benefits are worth it (and sometimes they are not).

Actually, the [Chinese] seller wouldn't need to "reduce their price by 245%". For example, an item sold for $1000 would incur a 245% tariff, resulting in a $3450 total cost to the importer (who would then add a markup so they can sell it at a profit). If the [Chinese] seller reduces their selling price to $290 (that would be a 71% reduction), the cost to the importer would now be $1000 -- the same as their previous cost w/o the new tariff. Now the question is: "Can/will a [Chinese] seller profitably sell their item(s) for 69% and still make a profit?". I suspect that the answer is NO for the vast majority of items, but possibly YES for some very high margin goods. They may also use cheaper [lower-quality] material and/or reduce the quantity per item (much like how some ice cream went from pints to 14 oz and half-gallon to 1.5 liter) with no or only a small price increase.
