I would much rather have the author narrate the book, or someone who is an experienced orator, rather than "some famous actor". The author can share the canon pronunciation of names, places, things as their imagination has created, stress the words or adjust cadence to fit the mood or scenario. I want to share their vision when possible. Actors are chosen for marketing purposes, not narrative skills. Side note, I dislike animated shows/movies peppered with A-list voices that prevent immersion due to their distinctiveness. That's SLJ here, or Dwayne Rock Johnson there, or Tom Hanks, Rogen, Bell, Johansson etc. Though their acting skills can make their on-screen character come alive with personality and presence. Those immersion issues also can apply to a narrated book.
