The endgame of "computers can create money from nothing" crypto was always going to be that bagholders were bagholders.
The thing that made crypto less than desirable for thinking people is the religious zeal of hardcore *pumping". If it was that great, people wouldn't need to pump it so hard.
Also, is it an asset, a digital coin, or "an investment"?
I do feel bad for the unsophisticated people who were conned - especially the ones borrowing vast sums to "invest" in crypto.

The emphasis on how much a student learns is a red herring.
The schools are charging a premium based on the prestige of the college, the maintenance and cost of running a campus, campus amenities, etc.
When class is online, there are no janitors to pay, no campus cafeteria, no security officers, orders for supplies, etc. What is left? Administrator pay (how many are now needed?), costs associated with teacher staff. Aside from all of this, can someone put a price on the campus experience?
By continuing to charge the same the same rate as before, the schools are up-charging; adding unnecessarily to the student debt crisis.

Look past the Vinyl vs. CD quality debate and think about the music. The upswing in vinyl sales has much to do with back catalog. Older folks are probably more likely to look for a Hendrix LP re-issue than many of the newer artists. The indie scene's attraction to vinyl is another thing. Great music with great packaging.
I imagine the new pop music coming out is less attractive than it once was, which is why the poor CD sales (for pop music).
Back catalog (Black Sabbath, Velvet Underground, Led Zeppelin) is great music which is really attractive with deluxe LP packaging.

GM's Hummer Brand To Be Sold To a Chinese Company 429
An anonymous reader writes in to note that GM will sell its Hummer brand to Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co. of China, a little-known industrial firm. For now, the deal will save 3,000 jobs in the US. (The military HumVees are made by a separate company and are not involved in this deal.) "As part of the deal, some GM plants will continue to build the Hummer brand for the new owner, at least for awhile. The company said its Shreveport, La., plant will keep building Hummers for the new owner until at least 2010. ... GM said it sold 5,013 Hummers worldwide in the first quarter, down 62% from the 13,050 that it sold in the same period the prior year." AP coverage has more details on GM's planned divestitures, including the shedding of Pontiac, Saturn, and Saab.

Scientists at the Stanford University School of Medicine did functional brain imaging of 22 young adults — 11 men, 11 women — while they played a simple video game on a computer screen with minimal instruction.
The researchers found that while both men and women quickly picked up the game's concepts, the guys were somewhat more aggressive and successful at gaining "territory" on the screen.
Brain images showed that the entire group experienced increased activity in a section of the brain associated with reward and addiction. But the male brains showed much greater levels of activity in those zones, and that the activity increased according to how much territory they had gained. There was no similar match for the women."
