It does the Wiimote's job, only better. The problem is that it's being marketed toward the PC, where it won't sell because developers won't support it. The only games it'll work well on are low-budget titles or console ports where you can control the entire game with just the remote. The worst part is that once this (decent) product gets patented, we won't see the technology again for 10 years after its initial failure.

Submission + - Spore, Mass Effect to phone home (bioware.com)

Tridus writes: The PC version of Mass Effect is going to require Internet access to play (despite being a single player game), as its DRM system requires that it phone home every 10 days. Sadly, Spore will use the same system. This will do nothing to stop piracy of course, but it will do a heck of a good job of stopping EA's new arch-enemy: people playing their single player games offline.

Feed FoxTorrent, a Firefox BitTorrent client (newsforge.com)

BitTorrent clients are all over the place these days. One of the newcomers, FoxTorrent, is a fully functional cross-platform Firefox BitTorrent client created by Red Swoosh, a company that is now part of Akamai. What FoxTorrent lacks in features it makes up for in simplicity.
