Just one good flooding or one nice solar flare for the EV crew. And all of those who are victims in their EVs should say or think the following: And, like a good neighbor, State Farm is there. Where is Mayem when you need him, Allstate? Dum-De-Dum-Dum-Dum-Dum-Dum-Dumb-Dumb for Farmers Insurance. And the Geico lizard would be at home in a flood, BUT, roasted with a solar flare. Not to mention major satellite and electrical issues in the wake of a solar flare and flood.

The fact that our supposedly accidental taste for it has not been eradicated by genetic or cultural evolution means that the cost of indulging in alcohol must be offset by benefits.

You rarely encounter alcohol in nature. Pretty much the only source are naturally fermented fruits, and they don't taste that great. Humanity learned to brew alcohol on purpose fairly recently, so there hasn't been much time to evolve aversion to it.

The Last GM Big-Block V-8 Rolls Off the Line 525

DesScorp writes "It's the end of an era in auto technology, as the very last big block V-8 engine from GM has rolled off the production line. The L18 engine was the last variant of an engine that had been in continuous production for over 50 years. The big blocks powered everything from the classic muscle cars of the '60s and '70s to heavy-duty trucks today. From the Buffalo News: 'When GM said last June the L18 would be eliminated by year's end, the announcement triggered another show of devotion to the product. Some customers ordered two years' worth of L18s, to put on the shelf for future use.' More than 5 million big blocks have been produced over the engine's history. The final big block engine to come off the line in Tonawanda, NY is headed for the GM Heritage Center in Sterling Heights, MI."

Only insurance companies get paid by law as a requirement (insurance premiums). Banks entice, there is no law making it mandatory for you to pay banks. The insurance industry relies on it's clients not to file claims, of which, they "flip" the clients money by loaning it out (they are so prominent they issue mortgages, now). The insurance industry waited for FEMA instead of immediately handling the claims they are responsible for. How else could America have a record number of hurricanes and insurance rates go down? The insurance industry paid hardly any claims. It is Americans that suffered from corporate America (the auto industry and yes, banks too) moving the good paying jobs over seas for their CEO's record profits. Yes, and there is one last very true note, Bush bails out the banks and A-- insurance with emergency relief, but signed into law, years ago, a law that makes it extremely tough for the average American to file bankruptcy. What about the little guys bailout? No, spa $400,000.00 treatment for the American that lost his and or her job due to outsourcing over seas.
