No option for Thermally Efficient, high torque, fuel-flexible Steam?
I think a properly built 21st century steam car is the way forward. Back in the twenties, even, Steam cars could be had that got from cold to off and running in 40s or less, could do 0-60 in 7.5 despite weighing 3 tons, and got terrific fuel economy for their size.
I see no reason a small, simple steam car couldn't get better than 50mpg or better while delivering sub 6s 0-60. And it could run on just about anything that burns, even Hydrogen.
