It sounds like this was a case of placeholder lines getting overlooked and not being replaced by an actual actor.

The placeholder lines probably exist so that actors can hear the dialogue of other characters they'll be sharing scenes with, or so that the scenes themselves can be set up before all recordings are finalized.

On top of that, it's a plain TTS system, not intended to sound indistinguishable from a real person.

https://www.malwarebytes.com/b... I don't know what size it is (was?), or how many of its staff are affected, but come on, acquire a new company one week, lay off 100 staff the next? How are people supposed to have a life? Companies that complain of falling staff loyalty have actions like this to blame. It's like trying to make a home and have a family in a video game level where every floor tile you touch falls away a few seconds later.

Slashdot won't actually allow people to post AC without being logged in, at this point. Or at least it didn't last time I tried to post while logged out.

I wouldn't be surprised if posts that display AC in the front end still have account data attached to them that only administration can see.

I won't deny that a SD card slot is a perk that's missing on the Apple side (and now from some Android flagships, too? Damn.) but for basic users it can complicate things further.

Capacity is easy to understand, but then you also need to factor in the read and write speeds of the card's memory controller and overall write durability of the card. I figure most readers here can deal with that just fine, but Average User J. Smith is most likely going to focus on capacity and cost, and end up with a card that looks spacious, but is physically painful to use because it takes forever to transfer data *to* the card - and then has garbage read times compared to the phone's onboard storage anyways.

And then they'll come to us and ask why their Amazing Phone is slow.

I just want a panel that displays whatever input I throw at it. It doesn't need to be able to navigate to Youtube or Netflix or whatever the hell on its own, that can be done by a discrete device that sits on one of the inputs. And can be replaced independently of the panel if necessary. Or the panel can be replaced independently of the streaming device, if it somehow manages to die first.
