Journal the_mad_poster's Journal: The AC Harassment 9
There is at least one individual posting within the journal group who has crossed the line from being obnoxious to being a flat out harasser.
When On Lawn posted this journal [ok, well, he deleted it - the JE linked to two abusive posts made AC that he claimed I made], I was fairly offended at first to the point that I e-mailed him with apologies for "creating the type of environment that allowed his personal information to be posted".
However, with the advent of other posts recently, it occurred to me this problem goes beyond the harassment Michael experienced. This individual is harassing people with impunity. It harassed Michael, myself, and now even Sol.
I'd like to point out that this person has, in fact, gone beyond the line of being obnoxious and is now firmly in the realm of harassment. It can post AC if it wants, it can even try to post via proxy, but it can be caught.
I'd like to suggest that a list be compiled of the posts this AC is making. If it turns out that this person is, in fact, beyond the legal limit of free speech, we can decide on further action.
I'm working on the people on my friends and fans lists to see what it's posted so far. I'd appreciate if anyone with friends/fans not on those lists could go through and find additional links.

I've had bad AC comments to my journal entries, before. Know what? I let them go. If nothing else, you're certainly giving this AC more attention than he warrants. You're also lowering your own s/n ratio by dwelling on it a lot. Unless this person is making actual threats against someone, read at +1 or +2 and let them waste their time but not yours. Jerks shut me down, and I didn't know until you told me. But they did finally let me re-download the three songs with that name from the box set.

As for "harassment" you have to be able to prove harm (legally defined) in order to press charges. Laws vary but in general, the "easiest" one to prove is Sexual Harassment, because it is defined. Someone posting crap in a public board is not harassment, as much as we'd like it to be.
You might be able to get him on computer tresspass if you could get him banned and he attempted to use /. after that (laws vary by state).
Bottom line is you will spend a lot of time and money for basically nothing,
