Journal the_mad_poster's Journal: "Bullets are cheaper than deportations." 18

I do love freep, and someone was nice enough to e-mail me this link the other day explaining "Why It's Time To Deport Liberals".

Freeper creeps are like this nasty little brutish cult of hate-filled, vile monkeys. Underevolved, violent, and generally lacking anything approaching what a normal, civilized human might consider modern culture, they're so far off the deep end that even some of the most whacked-out conservatives on the planet look at them like silly little dancing animals that got out of their cages.

So, really, is anyone surprised that the quote that titles this JE came from a freep creep in reference to eliminating "liberals"?

I didn't think so.

Back around last Thanksgiving, as you may recall, Little Green Footballs posted a link to one of my JEs and a cross-site pissing match ensued, much to the amusement of many. By the time it was all done, they were patting themselves on the back for having "defeated" lil' ol' me, apparently pleased that More than 400 comments in the story didn't appear until AFTER I waded into the fray and stirred them up (registration was also closed off again shortly after I started throwing shit around, but Chuck, being rightfully fearful of anyone who opposes him, routinely closes off registration so I can't really prove I caused that).

At any rate, at the time, CyranoVR was also a subject of the LGF posting for his comments instructing people to learn to load, clean, and fire a rifle. The implication was, of course, that some crazed conservative lunatic was likely to come around the bend on a shooting spree because you voted the wrong way, or had queer friends, etc.

They mocked him, of course, but I figure that this entire write-up, and the comments that ultimately followed, really vindicate CVR's original fears.

So, indeed. If you are a "libr'ah" and you don't wanted to get lynched by some bucked-toothed, slope-skulled maniac, I too would suggest you adequately and appropriately arm yourself.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: there has been talk of civil war in the past, but if it ever comes, it will come at the hands of conservatives.

I guess that "not wanting to shoot your countrymen in cold blood when they have a differing viewpoint" thing is just my liberal elitism kicking in though. And, remember friends - when we discuss freedom in the context of conservatism, we mean you're free to do whatever we tell you.

Thank god for approving the wholesale genocide of United States citizens. The Right truly is a wonderous thing.

And now for something tangentially related:

"Back then [at the time of Nazi power in Germany] the majority of people also backed Hitler just like the majority back this law," he said. "I'm serious, give it time and it will destroy the moral fiber of Spain and the West."

-- Fr. Jose Velasco speaking on a Spanish bill to allow same-sex marriages.

lol. To religious conservatives, marrying two gay people is like gassing a Jew? I just keep saying it.... and the conservatives wonder why I can't take them seriously, or show them any respect?

    2. I agree with most of what that guy says, but I don't see most of it in a negative light. I abhor selfisness. It's one thing to work hard and make something of yourself all on your own. It's another to use others to work hard for you, pay them peanuts and make sure that the majority if the wealth is kept at th
  • I know nothing about guns, but I do know a few different properties. For example, I have heard that it's hard to hit things with a .45 because it has a big kick, and it's hard to stop things with a .22, because it's too small.

What is the best gun for killing conservatives that might be trying to lynch me? I estimate that they will weigh between 250 and 400 pounds, and might have armor consisting of a pickup truck door between me and them. The gun obviously would have to be able to penetrate that. Since I'm
    • Short range, get a shotgun. Long range, any hunting rifle with a good scope should do. Say a 30-06 with a Bushnell or why not the undervalued .222 and splurge on an Aimpoint. Never mind the truck door, go for the head. Even though they won't have any higher thought processes going on that a hollowpoint[1] can derail, they still have a lot of large blood vessels up there. If it's good enough for deer, it's good enough for deer hunters.

      • The first and only advice is: go to a qualified dealer or a shooting range near you and try them out.

Otherwise you'll never know what the best cartridge and form factor suits you best. A 9mm handgun still has enough kick to possibly disturb your aim. For defense, a revolver may be too low on ammo, too hard to fire (hefty trigger pull needed), too heavy, hard to reload in combat, but reliable when lying around unchecked for years.

Grenades are suicide if you're not used to them. Thrown too fast and th
    • .50 caliber BMG sniper rifle should punch through one door panel, 2 rednecks, and the opposing door panel from long range.

Buying parts and ammo for it might be a problem though.

Failing that, your best personal defense sidearm is going to be the revolver richie suggests if you want high availability and reliability, low maintenance, and inexpensive, easy-to-find parts. If you want something a little bit more sophisticated, a Sig Sauer P series (P226 is my personal fave) is a very good choice. An alternativ
      • The Sig Sauer is a pretty gun, looks like a real gun should.

Question: http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976573346.htm [gunsamerica.com] says "pre-ban" in the description. What does this ban refer to? Are they legal?

And, is $650 a good price for this type of gun? Other sites mention that the police in many countries use it. If it's good enough for the police, it's probably a good gun.

I'm not actually going to buy the gun now, but I intend to edumacate myself in case I do have to buy a gun in the future.
        • Not sure if you are quoting new or not...I have seen new Sigs go for close to $1000. I was going to get one last year before I had a financial crisis, and was looking at a second-hand (former police issue) for $450 w/ pre-ban magazines.

The pre-ban refers to the magazine capacity. If the magazine was produce after year XXXX (I forget the year of the ban) they are limited to a 10-rnd capacity. You can still buy pre-ban magazines but you will pay a premium (2-3x the price of a 10-rnd post-ban). Only Law E
          • Oops, meant the comparison the other way around...the Sig is the BMW and the Berreta is the Ford...
            • So the Beretta is functional, inexpensive, and does the job, while the Sig coddles you with a lot of fancy gadgetry that's bound to fail, and can't perform with builds that cost half as much or less?

              Heh. I hate BMWs.
              • I agree that the Beretta will get the job done, however here are the reasons why I don't like them (all based on the military model I carried and shot):

                1. Feels like a weapon made by the lowest bidder

                2. Extraneuous safety: this might only exist on the military model (92f), but there is no possible way for the firing pin to strike the primer unless the trigger has been pulled to remove the firing pin block. The extra safety was added at the request of the military or they wouldn't have chosen Berreta.
      • Any sniper rifle beyond .38 winchester should be overkill in most circumstances. The US Army calls its M82 an "anti-materiel"-rifle for good reasons. That thing penetrates entire engine blocks and anything less armored than a tank. It is heavy, has an unbelievable recoil and every shot fired for training and excercise is extremely price intensive. We're talking about at the very minimum of 4-5 dollars a pop... (Desert Eagle's .50AE cost 2 euros per round here and only when buying in quantities of 100 shots
    • Hi, Profane. Just dropped in to say Hi and see what you've been up to. I'm rather surprised that the replies here seem to have taken you seriously. Little do they know!

Heck, I'll take your question seriously too. The best gun is the one you have ON you. If what you have is a 22 Derringer [gunbroker.com], then that is what you have to make work.

Seriously, a .45 will hit what you aim at if your aim is good and you practice. I found the .45 1911 style pistol has less recoil than a 9mm, much easier to get back on target for
      • Howdy Bob, I am serious!

I'm a liberal, which means that I'm reality-based. Prohibition doesn't work in the real world, and I'm also morally opposed to prohibiting any substance or device that has a valid use. So, I'm against prohibition of guns, though not against regulation.

I intend to read some about guns. I've even got a liberal friend who owns a few, and maybe he'll take me shooting sometime. I don't plan to buy now, but learning never hurt anyone.
        • Hi. Well, I'm a Libertarian, which means I'm against prohibiting anything at all. But enough posturing...

Ok. My honest advice is to get your friend who knows how to shoot and go to an indoor shooting range. Rent yourself a 1911-style .45 and try it out. Try out some other ones too, and try a revolver. Revolvers are Dead-Solid-Reliable even though they are harder to carry concealed and tend to have fewer shots without reloading.

If you want to hit what you're aiming at, repeat this to yourself when you are
          • Thanks for the tips. My friend who owns the guns is on an out-of-state project right now, so it'll be some months before I'll be able to talk to him about this. I'm definitely going to ask him though. I've shot rifles and shotguns before, and that was a lot of fun. Don't know a thing about handguns though.
