I suspect that since Windows 10 IoT installations on RPi are very few and far between, the return on investment would not be too good anyway. But after reading the copy of the email in the linked article, it's more clear that "Linda" probably isn't even a "business officer". Geez, what a low-life. The RPi guys could have asked for several thousand dollars/euros per copy (minimum 10,000,000 copies - paid up front), then (if Linda was *really* stupid enough to accept) just add a ruleset to let AdBlock block/remove all the content on the site. Or sandbox the EXE so that it runs out to /dev/null or similar. "whoops! looks like your programmer needs to fix some bugs in that malware!" Could use the money to donate RPi's to schools and charities.

I like dogs but its definitely not a solution for everyone!

Aside from travel restrictions (not everyone at holiday spots are dog-friendly), a Poodle is my recommended way to go. Historically very good guard dogs and hunting dogs, loyal to a fault, hearing and eyesight some of the best of the race, and (as I've done) trained to use a designated indoor toilet space so no external 5AM excursions into the cold or wet necessary. They do need regular exercise (1-2 hours minimum per day), but easy to train at many tasks compared to other popular guard dog options (sans German Shepard and Australian sheep dogs - these are the top 3 smartest breeds). Get a King Poodle for homes with yards, or a Standard Poodle for apartments. Even a Dwarf or Toy will work well, plus have the benefit of being easier to travel with on holidays (fits under the seat in airplanes). Avoid the Circus haircut and you'll have a fierce looking, lovable, family-oriented guard dag! :)

For whatever his evils, Nixon would still be referred to as "President Nixon", or "Mr. President" when engaged in conversation or an interview, just out of courtesy. He'd probably be introduced as "former President Richard Nixon" when introduced to an audience (I've heard that done for Clinton).

That would mean that the ex-president of the US is still considered a president.

Well they are often still called that even if they do not retain the office. We hear former Presidents referred to as President Clinton and President Bush on the media all the time. From wikipedia: "In the U.S., the title is reserved for the current President and should not be used for former Presidents. Although when addressing a former president, it is proper to use the title as a courtesy title."

an anonymous coward babbles: "You respect your betters, or you get tossed in a cage. That's the law. Ingrain that into your kid's brains before puberty hits, or they will wind up in a cage too."

The problem with that nonsense is at least two-fold. 1) People who think they are better do not actually deserve respect, regardless of age or wisdom, and 2) leaving out religious dogma, there is no law stating that you must respect "your betters".

Ingrain respect for property ownership and perhaps slap the teacher with a stupid stick for not following basic security principles.

"This female is a furry." BZZT! Wrong answer, but thanks for playing! It's a cartoon/drawing of an anthropomorphic female from a comic/game/fantasy setting. A 'furry' is an actual person that sympathizes with, relates to, or even wishes they were an animal in some form or fashion, often by wearing fursuits and/or engaging in some form of animal behavior, sexual or otherwise. And for the record, we haven't 'evolved' to fuck human females, that's just how it's happened more often than not due to species dominance or relationships or that it was the 'only game in town'. Evolution hasn't stopped human males from fucking anything (like sheep or even other human males) that stands still long enough for him to try.
