The equipment they use is stratasys--the biggest and most reputable 3d printer company out there. They have pretty quick turn arounds (same day, provided no queue and depending on job printing time). The price is competitive (they are printing a model for me for $23, when the closest competitor had a $250 minimum). The file I sent was STL format, that's pretty much the standard for most 3d printing companies.

The start up I work for practically has this product to a T. The only design spec's we don't match are the 40 in^3 (we are slightly larger, but smaller than a briefcase) and the output voltage (we do 480V 3-phase rather than 240 single). Otherwise (power density, harmonics, ability to handle loads, etc.) we've got covered. We need to remember that those that could implement a solution (previously mentioned: jammers, cheaper out-bound calls, monitoring of cell-phone bands,etc.), don't even have the mental capacity to conjure them up. Instead, they will just continue to waste the time of our government body [when it should be focused on the well-being of its citizens] on proposed laws which would "making such smuggling illegal". We need to cut the 'fat' out of the government, and replace them with engineers.

Get a RF jammer (I've seen them for ~$30), then the students wouldn't be able to wireless-ly interact or use google while in an exam. Electronic dictionaries and the like don't require a network connection so they would still be usable.

give the system by linear logic a check, its a data logger with write privileges. its a step in the right direction, but at least your unlikely to delete any root keys or files that are critical with it versus a open alternative that won't distinguish against them.

We need someone from the inside to wiki-leak it.
