Firefox is in no way done, it's a browser I enjoy using that gives me control over what websites see and do on my system. As for Pocket, I never actually used it and there's nothing a well written add-on cannot accomplish that was removed to keep the browser streamlined.

Whatever happened to planting trees in local areas not only to provide shade and cool the air, but absorb pollution and help in that area as well ?!

It has been known for some time that Microsoft doesn't care about it's user base, using any excuse to force them into buying newer systems that really aren't needed to run Windows at all apart from the built-in list of incompatibilities. At this point sticking to Windows 10 and bullet-proofing the system, or moving to a good Linux distribution would be the best option, rather than giving in to their ever increasing demands and abanoning your old hardware for a newer and shittier Windows 11 setup.

How about making a browser that works well and displays websites perfectly and leaving the ai and ad-handling to add-on's?

How about the BBC standing on their own two feet for a change and moving to a subscription model for people who actually want to watch their drivel, and not forcing the entire populate to fund their nonsense.

The fact that someone was actually paid for that absolute mess of a logo is disappointing, waste of funds.

I wouldn't trust a Microsoft Os to run beside my Linux system which is why Linux runs on a bare metal setup and Win11 runs inside a virtual machine so it cannot break anything.

It would be nice to have someone with a business brain in the presidency instead of another brain-dead puppet.

It's safe to say that Microsoft do not care about their userbase and privacy, they just want to scour as much information they can onto their servers.

One of the simplest solutions is to stop clearing huge areas of trees, and keep/plant trees in urban areas to lower temperatures in that area and eat up all that free floating carbon and convert it into oxygen.

The last few generations of iPhone have had LiDAR inluded which is uses to assist in unlocking the phone using a 3D scan of the owners face.

After installing Mint 21.3 and running a wayland session I tested out all of the apps which seemed to work well with a slight boost in performance in areas. My only real issue was running a Steam game which did work but wayland didn't support the keyboard layout chosen by xorg so some of my keys were missing.

My whole CD collection is stored on my Pc in Ogg format, is half the size of mp3 with better quality.

I like using the ffplay part of ffmpeg and kinda wish that the player would mimic functionality of mpv by giving keyboard shortcuts to enable/disable subtitles and an on-screen gui to allow skipping and subtitle/audio selection.

...and yet, if someone handed me a free Nvidia RTX 4090, I'd sell it in a heartbeat and buy an AMD RX7900 XT instead.
