I used to do computer work for a guy that was contacted by his ISP (Insight communications) and they told him he had a virus and would only be allowed back online once he was cleaned up.
He only noticed when he woke up the next day and had no service. This was the first and only time I witnessed an ISP taking a role in cutting off an infected PC.
