Comment Lets Go Back To Quasi-Base 60 (Score 1) 105

Instead of going to base 12, we should go back to quasi-base 60. The one's place can have digits 0 through 9, the next place over can have digits 0 through 5, the next 0 through 9, the next 0 through 5, etc. The "quasi" system has advantages because it still only uses the characters 0,...,9. (Imagine trying to memorize 60 different characters as one must use ABCDE & F to do HEX. We would run out of letters and invent more!) A base 60 numbering system would be convenient for the same reasons that were described above (divisibility).

What is funny is that ancient civilizations once used this numbering system long ago. We still see the evidence with the 360 degrees in a circle and 60 seconds in a minute stuff. The quasi-base 60 numbering system was used because of its correlations to astronomy. To bad it too was lost during man's large decline of knowledge...
