As a user, I really do not care if Apple is vulnerable at all, it is if me using their platform makes me vulnerable as a user. The threat is not to Apple, but users like me. Those who are considered threats want login names and passwords.... Apple knows "they" are safe in the area..

Even if there has not been great threats to Mac in the past regarding malicious programs and viruses, the increase in Mac users should still bring attention to the possibility of such attacks like AppleScript.THT. The attention brought by Apple on the subject of virus software the last few days may have just increased the possibility of one.

Or how about allowing consumer to fully use the digital file they download in the first place? The problem with most DRM issues is that the provider of the content never really leaves what they are providing, but always seems to be along with the ride.

Allowing professors the right to rip sections of movie's should be highly considered. I am currently in a class that uses movies primarily to show real life value to what is being taught in class. Sometimes watching a movie is the only way to get some concepts and topics across to the student. If reduced movie revenues and increased piracy are primary reasons for not allowing it, my response to that is that is I usually end up buying or renting a movie I watch in class if it was good. It is merely additional advertising if anything in my opinion. Why restrict our nation's youth to a potential increase of learning through the use of current media?

In business aspect, the initiation of using anti-virus software for Apple products is solid because of the extensibility of the services that can be provided. Apple may have an eye on potential long term profitability through subscription services to anti-virus software provided through them, marketing it as "it will be easier if you just get the service through us because we know the system."

I think there are so many benefits that could come from this type of project. First, with the increasing digital divide in our country, students would have an increased access to educational material available online. More and more classrooms use online material that many students don't have access to outside the classroom. Secondly, with increased access to the network I think there would be a decrease in costs for many goods because of increased efficiency overall in the country. Lastly, budgeting money for such a project I think would increase awareness in our need for increased work to our countries communication infrastructure.
