Working at the department of health, let me dispel two things posted here. 1) You can be tested for H1N1a with a Nasal Swab, or spinal tap, not just blood work. 2) The symptoms are not the same as the regular flu (SHOCK & AWH!) You do not vomit with H1N1, as you do with the flu and the runs are persistent with H1N1 and not the common flu. Only 80% of infected people ever get a fever. On a personal note of having had it myself I can say it is nowhere as bad as having the common flu. In-fact the head cold I have right now feels twice as bad.
Two other symptoms that are common with H1N! and not the regulag flu is that ones skin becomes very pink and a cork-screw type appendage protrudes from the infected persons backside. Oink!
