Boiling down CS to "coding" is the mistake. Coding is a means to an end. The idea that in order to solve problems we ask questions, do research, construct a hypothesis and experiment, actually put in the work of validating our hypothesis, and then draw conclusions from our work results has applications across many disciplines. With CS the skill of being able to adapt to novel situations and learn something new in an evolving landscape of technologies also makes students more pliable and adaptable to other non-coding tasks.
