Buying everyone detained a plane ticket would be a huge expense, this way the fear is spread to friends and family and more people left. This is the desired effect and economical. This is also old school police strategy. Best someone up, tell them to leave town. This causes fear and reduces numbers on the street, without large investment or acuity. It doesnâ(TM)t have the same level of surveillance as Russia or as England. London is well known for having on the ground surveillance everywhere. If youâ(TM)re talking about internet then maybe computer level surveillance but the human resource is going to be dedicated to terrorism primarily, as we became obsessed with it after 9-11, and thatâ(TM)s where our laws allow the most leeway.

Cancel culture requires the majority to agree, or at least a large amount of people, and still allows the person to do whatever they want, just without the support of the system. Where police state surveillance allows one personâ(TM)s command to murder or jail opposition. Donâ(TM)t conflate it just because you donâ(TM)t like it.
