I am against this comment about Karzai. He is a legitimate president elect of a democratic and modern country. You also may not accuse the USA of bribery. You seem to know not clearly of what you write about. Study your history.

bs0d3 writes "A new tax in France is aimed at ISPs. The new government tax on ISPs is to help pay for the CNM (Centre National de la Musique). Already in France there is a tax on TV, to pay for public access channels. It's similar to the tax in the United kingdom which pays for the BBC. This ISP tax will be the musical equivalent to that. President Sarkozy comments, 'Globalization is now, and the giants of the internet earn lot of money on the French market. Good for them, but they do not pay a penny in tax to France.' This all began after the music industry accused French ISPs of making billions of dollars on their backs. Now the music industry must also get their hands in their pockets."

The highest quality user experience available on any desktop computing device is what is keeping me and a few billion others on the Windows operating platform. Ease of use, installation, maintenance and configurability. Does Linux come close? No. Does MacOSX come close? No. Does any other proprietary operating system come close? No. So it has been and will be Windows for a long time to come.

Journal Journal: Performance decrease as hard disk becomes full

My experience with Windows XP on laptops has been that as the hard disk becomes full, performance suffers drastically. Applications take longer to load, boot-up speed is slower, there is disk thrashing when opening Windows Explorer. All this in pite of regularly defragmenting using Diskeeper Lite. Now, I use a Toshiba Satellite Pro with a 37 GB HDD. Any one else experience this same thing / what did you do about it?
