Yes, you can listen from around the world with WLAN radio.
To tune to stations other than commerical radios, try http://www.dxtuners.com
You can even listen to amateur radio, air traffic control, police, and other frequencies from receivers kept around the world!
I hope dxtuner can be tuned from WLAN radios too.
