This is a very normal thing.

I hear that claim all the time and it's usually BS. My daily driver is 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE and it gets used a lot not just by my family's needs but also by friends asking for help. During the winter time in the Cleveland area I end up providing rides in bad weather or helping pull stuck vehicles. It's not daily but you'd be surprised how often. I was on one trip from Wichita to Cleveland in the winter and assisted three stuck vehicles on the highway. Just because you see trucks sitting in driveways doesn't mean they aren't being used. I have a bed cover to help with mileage. You wouldn't know if I was hauling stuff with the bed cover fully closed. As for mileage, I've consistently hit over 20 mpg with my best at 24.7 mpg and I had ranges of close to 400 miles on a single tank. That's with a 5.3l, 10 speed transmission, 4x4 and full tow package. My truck has a full cabin that can seat 5 people very comfortable, 6 is a cramped with 3 upfront. My truck gets better mileage than my old Subaru wrx. I drive a lot in suburbs of Cleveland and the vehicles you don't see much of in winter is EVs. In the others seasons, yes you see a bunch, nothing like ICE vehicles but you see a lot. Come winter and those EVs are at home unless the weather is very decent. Hybrids are a much better option for most people and Toyota saw this a long time ago. There is no way I'm paying $80k plus for all EV truck when TCO of my truck is cheaper. When I decided to eventually replace my truck it will be a hybrid providing it has all the options I need.

This an another CCP approved article while denying the terrible pollution in China. Just look at air quality in Chinese cities to see how terrible China is. They don't care about the climate but everyone will ignore that fact while the US has continued to work on air quality. Grey skies daily in China and blue skies in the US.

meanwhile back to reality. Multiple countries continue to line up to try and purchase the F-35. China on the hand can't sell their aircraft to anyone. Even Pakistan to planning to purchase aircraft from Turkey.

My current truck, a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 gets better gas mileage than my old Subaru WRX did. It has a 10 speed transmission, start stop and cylinder deactivation. It's not a vanity as it gets used a lot and is a must in northern Ohio winter. Yes trucks just used to get around is a bit silly but you'd be surprised how many times my truck is used.
