Finally some sense in this thread. It is obvious that smartphones changed how we do a lot of things, so I do not think this study is far off. But if it changed social interactions I am sure it also changed many other things that in turn cause this. If someone thinks this is a good outcome because they want to limit teen pregnancies they are so far off it is crazy. You limit teen pregnancies by providing the correct information and contraceptives. The findings of this study is anecdotal at best, but what it is implying is alarming and should warrant further studies into this topic.

This is the insightful comment this thread needed. It is the combination of things that does it. Not just one thing alone. It is also worth noting that the huge increase of Apples value has come during Tim Cooks tenure as CEO.

Apple has been looking to diversify the countries they operate and manufacture in for some time. Indias prior demand to have iPhone manufacturing there is not something new. Apple also have manufacturing in Vietnam for instance. China is turning more and more authoritarian towards external companies while promoting internal brands. So itâ(TM)s obvious Apple is trying to limit their presence there.

Actually. I did. But sure, it wasnâ(TM)t the entire reason, but I was unhappy with my 14 Pro that I had to buy because my previous phone fell apart unexpectedly. So when they announced the 16 and also signaled that this was a divider in terms of future functionality I decided that I should make this switch sooner rather than later. I usually keep my phones for 3-4 years. But I also assume, they will figure this out. Siri has been lacking for years, especially in context driven scenarios. But Iâ(TM)m not from the US and understand that justice system, but at least morally I think this complaint is fair.

I think it actually makes a difference. It is clear that Apple wants to create as few waves as possible right now in regards to the new US administration, but in reality, I think they want to continue their work in DEI and with the climate. They already been in the forefront of this work for years. Things like that doesnâ(TM)t change overnight, so this is just them bending the knee and asking to be left alone.

I think it is great that Apple tries to make products with a low carbon foot print. I wish more companies worked towards that goal. That said, I think buying credits is a highly questionable way to âoelowerâ your foot print. So I think it is great that Apple gets sued so this can be tried. Is this allowed? I mean, that is how a justice system works? Legislators and other make laws and regulations and then those are tried in courts to see if they hold up and are consistent.

That sounds crazy. Why wouldnâ(TM)t Apple employees also use Apple devices? Especially those that work in Retail. I think I can give you more insight into this. There is an app used to get your schedule and other communications from the employer. To have this app installed on your personal device means enrolling your device in a MDM solution. They could do this type of control for the devices that have this activated. My best guess would be that this is what the lawsuit is about. Myself, I turned that down. I can not have someone else controlling hardware I own, where I would also store my personal photos. That is just not acceptable.

I agree. They havenâ(TM)t been very good in the past with this. But letâ(TM)s give them the benefit of a doubt. I mean, sometime has to be the first time and it would mean better products for us all.

I like thin devices. But Apple has another journey it is on: making sustainable devices that are also easy to repair. I have also seen far too many bent Apple devices. So, this seems contradictory to that. I hope to be proven wrong or this report to be false.

Excuse me, sir? But is it not called a Fairphone and not a Greenphone? Its saying it is fair. Not green. There is basically no electronics that can say it is green. Apple made the last iteration of the Watch carbon neutral, they claim. But it is still not âoegreenâ. And the fair part, you can believe. But do read the fine print and you will understand better how they operate.

While I donâ(TM)t necessarily disagree with what your points, the way you convey it and using word like âoedonâ(TM)t be daftâ is counterproductive. Apple has a right as anyone else, to do business as they see fit. Here, they have opted to stay in China. A move I donâ(TM)t really agree with either. But they still do a lot of manufacturing there even though I see they are trying to shift that to more countries. Which is good. I donâ(TM)t really feel as this is all Apples doing. The world has outsourced almost all production to China. That means they get access to all of our developed IP. And getting payed for it. Now we see more and more Chinese brands that competes with western brands, in the west, but with far less laws to support integrity, safety and so on. So I think we need to stop and manufacture things there. Thatâ(TM)s only helping the Chinese government.
