Comment Any Maps product is complicated (Score 1) 79

I have seen so many variations of maps and business listings so I can assure everyone that you will never be ready. You just need to accept the fact that data will always be outdated unless you will hire a person responsible for updates in every city in the world. This is why any modern mapping relies on crowdsourcing and data aggregation from multiple places and vendors. For realtime routing you need to have local traffic information so again it means getting road closures and build plans from local sources plus using existing device fleet to monitor speed and congestion.

The government should step in. There must be regulation that the hiring process should not last longer than 2 months and the candidates should be onboarded within 1 month after accepting the offer. If this doesnâ(TM)t happen then person should be considered a hired person who doesnâ(TM)t get paid with all relevant consequences to the company.

We have so much ridiculously obsolete stuff everywhere. Customary measurement system instead of metric. Faxes and phone calls instead of emails. Calling in to book appointments. I can write a whole poem about this nonsense. Internet exists for 20 years but everything operates like 50 years ago.

It is very simple. Luring out personal details enables personalized attacks beyond the chatbots. For example it can be used by real thieves. I regularly get scammed by the fake girls on Instagram. I guess they use the classic scheme of getting trust and manipulation to get money from the victim. AI is just a tool that helps identify the most vulnerable and dumbest people who can do such things.
