Journal stoolpigeon's Journal: The New Design 2
I don't want to be left out of the party - so here we go.
First off, my issue with needing to double click links is gone. This is a win.
Second good thing is the front page renders better on my phone now. (Though I wish there was a dedicated mobile interface that didn't require me to zoom in and scroll around.)
The journal pages are totally busted, hopefully that will get fixed soon. Having everything stacked on the left is annoying. I know were an insignificant group in terms of traffic and such but this is where I spend a lot of my time at the dot.
I haven't really dug around much beyond that. I'm terrible at designing so I can't say much about the aesthetics, it mostly looks good to me. I know it's better than I could do. There is one thing I'd like to see change. The page that lists journals still has a fixed width on the date field and wraps around dates that are too long. It makes the row twice as wide and it's not necessary.
Not related to the design, I sent in a request for tech crunch to get added as a slashbox. I pretty much start at slashdot and jump out from here to stuff I see on the right - that would save me one trip to check the site itself.
Well at least the inbox still works (Score:2)
Can't find the link anywhere, but I already linked it in my profile the last time they messed things up. The journal link that I saved actually looks better than the previous one at least. I wonder if any bugs got killed during the update?
