Of the 23 homes on my street I'm confident I saw 12 installations since GF started hooking us up in April. I'm pretty sure it is more, probably approaching 75% if not more. And I've seen the trucks all over the subdivision in the last 4 months. I can stand on the second level of my home and easily pick up 10 GF wireless signals. So in my KC suburban subdivision the uptake seems pretty significant from what I've seen. I have TV, internet, and phone through GF. I hope they can keep it up as the service has been outstanding. I've had no outages or problems and they have been quick to respond to questions and requests.

My HP Stream 13 would not even pull down the update via Windows update due to it not having enough hard drive space (HD is only 30 gig). After much work, I finally got the update to install last Friday using the media creation tool. If I didn't have the tool available, I doubt I could have gotten the thing to even try and update in the first place.

Set the clocks ahead 1/2 hour from standard time, then leave them alone. We'll get the benefit of some of the extra daylight in the evening, but not have to put up with the asinine changing twice a year.

I have one too and it has served me well. I repair pinball machines so the EPROMs I need to program usually don't require an adapter or anything special. I've also had good support from their forum. Looks like mcumall.com, which sells the GQ-4x forgot to renew their domain registration. Oops!

That seals the deal for me. Let me lend my books I rightfully purchased, or I'll stick with dead tree versions. I knew it sounded too good to be true.

I did some more digging. Under the Support section of the site, it still says "one time". Under the Features section of the site there is no mention of one time.

Still clear as mud.

When the Nook site went live early, the information on lending stated: "You can lend many of your eBooks one time for a maximum of 14 days." To me this means you can only loan a book out one time, ever. Now the site states: "Most eBooks can be lent for up to 14 days at a time." No mention of "one time." Better. Not ideal, but I can probably live with this as long as there is not a restriction on how many times a book can be loaned out. The inability to loan books is what totally killed my interest in the Kindle. I'm still sticking with dead tree books right now, but I have to admit that I'm now at least tempted by an ebook reader.

You obviously never had the pleasure of owning an IBM Deskstar 75GXP. Alas, updating firmware, incantations, and anything/everything else did not keep me from suffering a failed drive and RMA hell. Twice.

When I put my last machine together in September '08 I went with a 65 watt X2 5200+ (Brisbane). Cool and quiet won out over hot and noisy. Or perhaps you could say slow and boring won out over fast and exciting. Hmmm, maybe there are deeper personal issues at root in this decision...where did my comfortable shoes go?

I bought a new Model M (Lexmark) from clickeykeyboards.com last November and I love it. My mom used my keyboard and commented on how nice it was. She used to be a secretary and used typewriters, so she appreciates the tactile feedback. So I bought her a Unicomp Customizer for Christmas since they are smaller and a black model isn't ridiculously expensive.

Too funny, I gave my mom a black Unicomp SpaceSaver for Christmas and I just hooked it up right now. This is my first test of it.

I use a Lexmark manufactured Model M I bought new in box from clickykeyboards (manufactured in 1996). My mom really liked it but doesn't have as much desk space so I bought this SpaceSaver for her. I like my Model M better, but this SpaceSaver is still a very nice keyboard.
