squish18 writes: All Things D reports that Apple as won an injunction banning the import of some HTC phones, starting in April, 2012. The ruling by the ITC stems from two claims of *647 patent concerning software used to enter personal data in mobile devices. It is interesting to note that the ITC has also reversed previous rulings regarding regarding infringement of two other *647 claims, as well as patent *263 claims.

Comment Programming suite != PLC (Score 1) 106

By the look of the Rockwell exploit, it only impacts the PC-based programming suite, rslogix. The worst of it would seem to be that you could aggravate a programmer trying to setup a system and NOT remotely take over and reconfigure a PLC system.

Then again, if your PLC network routes publicly, you deserve to be aggravated.

Comment Bosch DIVAR (Score 1) 383

As a Mfr.'s Rep, naturally I'm going to push a specific product. It has been mentioned here before, and with good reason. The Bosch Divar is probably the closest thing to what you are looking for. They run as a completely embedded system, and are thus (as you note) less prone to viruses. They also allow for easy spanning of locations, while allowing for centralized management. The other recommended option might be something like the philips netcam, which would allow you to implement using (perhaps existing) IP networks. We rep in the Midwest (Based near Chicago), so drop a reply if you're interested.
