Next they'll require us to produce copies of ourselves without "parts" to prevent our children or the public from being exposed to accidental exposures of our scans on the net. I agree we need to use due-diligence but this seems like overkill for the problem and a stomp in the face. Just wait, next up there will be funding allocated for a scanner upgrade which actually detects morale intent or can read our minds. Where do we draw the line?

I wonder if in 10 years we'll be asking the same thing about a y@hoo account or those who have profiles or comments from other popular sites like f@book? I suppose it is up to the position to be filled. Does your applicant fad-followers have the right job qualifications to follow instructions or are you looking for those applicants that lead and think outside the box? Hmmm...

adaviel writes: LORAN (Long Range Aids to Navigation) is an electronic navigation system using low-frequency radio, used by many boaters (including me) before GPS. It has an approximately 200m accuracy and is a functional replacement in case GPS fails or the US implements selective availability in time of war. The US Coast Guard intends to turn it off starting February 8.
