Broadcom taking over VMware was the push I needed to go to full FOSS hog. Within 4 months of broadcom making these licence changes I have moved to ProxMox from VMware, I'm using Godot instead of GameMaker, I'm now using Kubuntu instead of Windows, I'm using Krita instead of Photoshop... and I freakin' love it.
