The most relaxing vacation I've found is getting out of town on a week's retreat with my computer in a friend's basement. He keeps going to work, so I have the whole day to play games, watch tv, and ride my bike around town. Since I'm out of town there are no chores and no phone calls. After work we get dinner and watch a movie. I don't have to worry about finding gas stations, catching tour buses, making connecting flights, drinking the water, protecting my wallet/passport from pickpockets, getting in the wrong part of town, catching tropical disease --- I get enough of that at work.
