Stats Show iPhone Owners Get More Sex 397

An anonymous reader writes "According to OK Cupid's survey of 552,000 user pictures iPhone users have more sexual partners than BlackBerry or Android owners. By age 30, the average male iPhone user has had about 10 partners while female iPhone users have had 12. By contrast, BlackBerry users hover around 8 partners and Android users have a mere 6. As the blog's author's wryly observe: 'Finally, statistical proof that iPhone users aren't just getting f*@ked by Apple.'"

Prince Says Internet Is Over 450

the_arrow writes "According to the artist currently known as Prince, 'The internet's completely over.' At least that what he says in an interview with the British newspaper Mirror. Quoting Prince: 'The internet's like MTV. At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. Anyway, all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can't be good for you.'"

Comment Fairplay currently can't do subscription DRM (Score 1) 203

Even if Apple wanted to do it, there is huge issue for the millions of iPods out there: Fairplay DRM, as currently implemented, has no concept of expiration or time limit. So, an "all you eat" subscription solution would be painful for Apple. I can see them updating FairPlay in newer iPods, but updating firmware for every iPod model ever made isn't going to happen.

I could possibly see Apple making "subscription services" a new iPod feature... forcing people to upgrade to newer iPods if they want support. But that would mean millions of users would be left out. Would Apple really do this?

I'm guessing Apple will never do it, and continue saying it isn't something the users want. That's better spin than saying "it's too hard to do." :-)

Paul Graham Claims "Microsoft is Dead" 536

netbuzz writes "He doesn't mean dead as in six feet under, but rather that the software giant no longer instills the kind of fear — particularly among entrepreneurs — that it did back in the day when it was making road kill out of companies like Netscape. Microsoft obits have been around for almost as long as the company, but Graham's stature, style and devoted following are likely to make this one a classic."
