Well, theres a problem. AI doesn't really solve or understand anything, it just functions as search engine. Thats not true intelligence.

In the past year, Alphabet announced a deal worth 'tens of billions' with Anthropic. There was another deal with OpenAI for an unknown amount, but presumably similar to the Anthropic one. They are both a a complicated arrangement of chips going one way and services going the other, but the deals have been given a monetary amount that is beneficial to both parties, so I'm guessing that is going to be a large part of the increased profits at Alphabet. (And will probably also show up on the net balance sheet at Antropic and OpenAI. Its the circular economy bro!).

I mean the P/E ratio is 524.23. I need a bigger phone or smaller fingers.

So yeah, it might be overpriced.

We had her put down at 21 because of other overwhelming health issues. It never occurred to me to have her put down because she wasn't the cat she used to be. She was clearly away with the fairies for the last 18 months. It bothers me now that with hindsight it might have been kinder.

She spent her days as a silent black shadow, leaping from a hidden corner into your lap without a word being spoken. In her final year she'd just sit in the middle of the room, peer into space, and then howl loudly and repeatedly. It was heartbreaking.

Apologies. It was 35 years ago. My memory isn't what it was.

I can remember when it was launched, and the name Hubble became synonymous for being a bit rubbish. Eveything went wrong. It was launched into the wrong orbit, the lens was scratched (The lens was scratched!), it shuddered when the solar panels expanded and contracted when entering and leaving sunlight. And here with are 35 years later, with all its many, major initial failings forgotten. Its almost the american dream of failing till you make it.

In Europe in the 1860s, revolutions were taking place everywhere. Karl Marx thought the workers revolution would start in the UK. Turns out it didn't. Britain in the 1800s was pretty much the only country that didn't have a civil war, cos everyone new their place guvnor. The satanic mills of the industrial revolution was run by shovelling widows and orphans into the furnaces. So the wealth rose to the top, and was then converted into overseas expansion and ever more mills.

GB News and the Reform Party thunder constantly about the folly of Net Zero. And yet, it works. Guess they'll still keep taking brown envelopes from Russia.
