somebearouthere writes: Skype for Linux was updated in 2014 to 4.3 and has sat there without an update while other platforms have been updated including the new version for Universal Winodws. Some where in 2015 there was an answer to the community in the Angroid forums, that Microsott has quietly abandoned that version of the product, leaving Linux users who have paid for subscriptions very unhappy, with the expectation that one day they too, would be able to finally use group video chat, have a real 64-bit version available, not have to use 32-bit libraries for GTK, and overall a better UI.

Skype developers have just thrown in the towel and it has left the user base frustrated. What to do now?
