Why do they insist on treating intangible, abstract information as if it were a physical object that you lose if you give it away? Everyone's sick of knowing they're missing the point.

Me too, except I'm not deaf but have observed I process the conversation better when on the left ear. Go figure, does this mean even though I have a better understanding of the conversation when on the left ear, I'd be more likely to carry out any requests, or does it only have to do with good will?

Ahh the heat. Around 2000 I was working in a small office that took direct sunlight during most of the day. With no air conditioning. And one fan. Which was consistently pointed towards my boss.

After a few months we managed to get an air conditioner, but it was an old household big box, and the hole in the wall was not closed at all. We used phonebooks to close the gap between the AC and wall. Though cooler, the room would still be above body temperature at almost all times.

In the hottest days we would go to work in sleeveless shirts and shorts (at least it was admitted) and I had to go to the fridge every other minute or so to get an ice cube to rub on my arms and legs until it melted out.

Oh, did I mention I worked on weekends and was underpaid?

Also, just for laughs, my car was hit, parked right in front of the building... by the very truck bringing the air conditioner! And the truck driver never paid for the repair. </rant>
