Kubuntu LTS release's lifetime is only 3 years now, since 18.04. Before that it was 5 years. I'm using 22.04 right now, it has been great experience.

The name of DB system is Firebird, the fork of Borland's Interbase. Last time I used it (looong time ago), it used DES for password hashing (same for Interbase), which was terrible.

Or you can just disable the scheduled "reboot after update" task in the Task Scheduler. I'm sure whether you need SYSTEM privilege to disable the task. If SYSTEM privilege is needed, you can run Task Scheduler with psexec/psexec64 from SysInternalSuite, I think the command is: psexec64 -s -i mmc taskschd.msc from admin command prompt.
Works fine for me too, firefox + ublock origin + umatrix.
You may want to try to enable zram for swap, and use adblocker+script blocker (uBlock origin+uMatrix for example). And maybe use ramdisk/tmpfs for browser cache to reduce the SSD wearing.
