The headset cable acts as antenna. Though I haven't tried it, it looks like you plug the external antenna into to headset jack.
The device has an 'audio in' jack that allows you to record from external sources.
It records in its own internal format (not mp3), which (at least to my ears) sounds different to the live broadcast. It's still good enough for talk radio though.
